University of Toronto President Visits

Professor Meric Gertler, President of the University of Toronto, visited Tsinghua University on November 22. Tsinghua University Vice President Xie Weihe had a discussion with Professor Gertler.

During their meeting, VP Xie briefly introduced Tsinghua’s history, education, and efforts related to international cooperation. The hope was expressed that more collaboration could be encouraged between the University of Toronto and Tsinghua University in the coming years, especially in relation to research in environment, energy, and urban planning, as well as cultural and student exchanges.

Professor Gertler he was installed as the 16th president of the University of Toronto in November.
