Yale Professor Robert Shiller Speaks at Tsinghua Distinguished Speaker Forum in Finance

On November 21, 2012, Professor Robert Shiller, from the Department of Economics Yale University and one of the founders of modern behavioral finance, delivered a speech at Tsinghua Distinguished Speaker Forum in Finance, and shared his newly-published book Finance and the Good Society with over 400 faculty and students in Tsinghua.
Professor Shiller’s lecture included three parts, first, the essence of finance and a series of arguments about the financial crisis; second, some financial innovations created in recent years; and third, a few radical innovations of finance that may stimulate benign social developments.
The Tsinghua Distinguished Speaker Forum in Finance invites scholars, government officials and industry experts of the financial sector to share the latest development in finance and economics with faculty and students of Tsinghua so as to promote the study of finance, improve the development of the discipline and cultivate financial talents.
