Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University Visits Tsinghua

Professor Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University, visited Tsinghua University on November 16th. Tsinghua University President Chen Jining, had a discussion with Professor Munroe-Blum, exchanging ideas on further collaboration between Tsinghua and McGill in the coming years.

During their talks, President Chen briefed Professor Munroe-Blum on Tsinghua’s student and faculty development, international student education, and international cooperation. They exchanged related ideas on such topics as life sciences, medicine, engineering, materials, and management, and expressed the hope that more cooperation could be achieved between the two institutions in future. In particular, it was mentioned that an effort should be made to encourage student and faculty exchanges, research, and summer school programs.

Heather Munroe-Blum became 16th Principal and Vice-Chancellor (President) and Senior Officer of McGill University in 2003. An accomplished scholar in the fields of psychiatric epidemiology and public policy, and a distinguished administrator, Principal Munroe-Blum is a member of McGill’s Faculty of Medicine and is a Professor in its Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health. 

Since 2008, the Tsinghua School of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Management at McGill University, have been cooperating with undergraduate and MBA student exchanges.
