Rector of K.U. Leuven Visits

Professor Mark Waer, Rector of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U.Leuven), visited Tsinghua University on October 22nd. Tsinghua University President Chen Jining held discussions with Professor Waer, where the two exchanged ideas on the further cooperation between the two universities. Tsinghua University Vice President Xie Weihe also attended the meeting.


During their discussion, President Chen briefed Professor Waer on Tsinghua’s educational policy, academic development and overseas cooperation. The two expressed the hope that collaborations between the schools can be strengthened in both the areas of research as well as faculty and student exchanges.

After the meeting, President Chen, Vice President Yuan, Professor Waer, and Professor Bart De Moor, Vice Rector for International Policy, K.U. Leuven, signed agreements between Tsinghua and K.U. Leuven.

Professor Waer awarded certificates to the Dual Master Degree Program students later that day, at Tsinghua’s Institute of Microelectronics.
