Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management (SEM) and HEC-Paris jointly celebrated the 10th anniversary of their cooperation on September 25.
The day of the anniversary was called "HEC-Day", when faculty members, students from both Tsinghua SEM and HEC-Paris, and representatives from the French Embassy in Beijing gathered at the SEM to review the fruitful achievements made by these two leading business schools in China and Europe during their decade of cooperation.

"The blending of the two cultures and of their values and practices has added to the understanding of reality and helps us to make better economic and social decisions. That is why we are especially proud of the collaboration between HEC-Paris and Tsinghua SEM," said Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC-Paris. The cooperation of Tsinghua SEM and HEC-Paris began in 1998. During the past decade, the two schools have carried out extensive cooperation in such fields as faculty and student exchange, academic collaboration, and MBA/EMBA education as well as an executive development program. One of the featured cooperative endeavors, called the "Advanced Management Program in Fashion and Luxury," began in 2006 and has graduated three classes. The latest cooperative venture between the two schools is the "10,000 Women Initiative Programme" sponsored by Goldman Sachs. Courses in the program are jointly developed and taught by outstanding members of the faculties of the Tsinghua SEM and HEC-Paris.
"The joint efforts of our two schools will contribute to the advancement of management education in the world in a unique way,"said Qian Yingyi, Dean of the Tsinghua SEM.
A forum entitled "Global Visions of Chinese Firms"was held on the afternoon of HEC-Day, where Mr. Hubert Testard, Minister Counsellor of the French Embassy in Beijing, Professor Xie Weihe, Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Professor Qian Yingyi, Dean of the Tsinghua SEM delivered addresses.
