Tsinghua University as host convened the first Postdoctoral Innovation Forum in China on July 6th. The Forum was attended by 170 representatives who exchanged and discussed ideas for postdoctoral system development in China.
The Forum focused on four topics: policy space for postdoctoral innovation; the academic environment for postdoctoral innovation; the requirements of science and technology innovation for postdoctoral researchers; and the character and innovative thinking of postdoctoral researchers.
Mr. Wu Jianying from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Tsinghua University Vice President Xie Weihe delivered speeches to open the Forum. Turing Award winner and Tsinghua Professor Andrew Chi-chih Yao, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Ms. Mei Yonghong, Chief Designer of the China Manned Space Project Mr. Zhou Jianping, Fellow of the UK’s Royal Academy of Engineering and Tsinghua Professor Song Yonghua, and Fudan University Professor Bao Jiming also delivered speeches at the Forum.
Tsinghua currently supports 34 postdoctoral stations and over 1,000 postdoctoral researchers.
