Michigan State University Distinguished Professor Anil K. Jain was appointed a Tsinghua Guest Professor on June 16 and delivered a speech for the occasion on “Fingerprint Recognition”.

Professor Jain is a University Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. He has received a number of awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Humboldt Research Award, a Fulbright Fellowship, the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award (2003), the W. Wallace McDowell Award (2007), the IAPR King-Sun Fu Prize (2008), and the ICDM 2008 Research Contribution Award for his contributions in pattern recognition and biometrics. He is a Fellow of the ACM, IEEE, AAAS, IAPR and SPIE.
